Article (by Aldo Grasso): "The Kennedys": a surprising effect."
Review of the 8-part TV series dedicated to the Kennedy family.
An excerpt:
"The 8-part miniseries, written by Stephen Kronish and directed by Jon
Cassar, is a short treatise on the ambition and obsessions of the great
patriarch Joseph Kennedy, and the rise and death of brothers John
Fitzgeral and Robert. For those of us accustomed to hagiography (all those
who are biographed on TV are saints), this TV series is a shock: the
Kennedys are described for what they did publicly, for the American dream
they reawakened, for the new frontier they blazed, but they are also
portrayed in their darkest moments, in a private life where they are seen
as power-hungry, inveterate pedants, and drug addicts." |

last weekend in the "Winter White House."
Excerpts:
"La Guerida" was the family's winter residence from 1933 to 1995, a
destination for all Christmas and Easter holidays. It was much loved by
the President, who wrote his famous inaugural address there with his
longtime collaborator Ted Sorensen ("Ask not what your country can do for
you, but what you can do for your country"), where he chose his list of
ministers during the 1960 Christmas holidays.
JFK spent the last weekend of his life in Palm Beach before his tragic
trip to Dallas on November 22, 1963.
The villa, at 95 North Ocean Boulevard, was purchased in 1933 by patriarch
Joe, John's father, Robert. and Ted, it was owned by the Kennedy family
until 1995, then passed to banker John Castle, the current owner. This
historic address is now up for sale, after a long and complex restoration,
for $38.5 million. |

Article from the Italian newspaper LA REPUBBLICA,
September 8, 2018.
Article by journalist Laura Laurenzi titled "The Kennedys' Challenge to
Eternity," which discusses the two exhibitions in Milan celebrating
America's most famous family and the legend of Jackie O'.
"The Kennedy Years" is the major photography exhibition opening in Milan
at the Institut Francais, Palazzo delle Stelline, on September 12, 2018,
exactly 65 years after John and Jackie's wedding at St. Mary's Church in
Newport. The visual narrative is by Frederic Lecomte-Dieu, a renowned
biographer of the Kennedy family, who has selected 200 photographs from an
extensive archive.
The other Kennedy exhibition, opening a few days later, on September 18,
2018, also in Milan, in the lobby of the Chateau Monfort hotel, is
entirely dedicated to Jacqueline.
It's a completely different kind of exhibition, essentially stolen photos,
entitled "Extraordinary images of a timeless fashion icon. Photographs of
Jackie Kennedy." It features around thirty images taken between 1967 and
1980 by Ron Galella, a famous paparazzo whose archive contained over three
million celebrity photos. |

 |
Article published on September 13, 2018, on the website of
the Institut Francais in Milan, to present the exhibition "THE KENNEDY
YEARS" (September 13 - October 13, 2018).
On the occasion of the 65th wedding anniversary between Jacqueline Lee
Bouvier and John Fitzgerald Kennedy, biographer Frédéric Lecomte-Dieu has
organized the photographic exhibition "The Kennedy Years" at the Institut
français in Milan.
A tribute to the marriage that sparked the dreams of not only America but
the entire world; the story of a legend, curated by Frédéric Lecomte-Dieu,
one of the most important biographers of the Kennedy family. A true
historical fresco illustrated through over 160 photographs drawn primarily
from the Kennedy archives. Alongside the images, the exhibition features
the only existing reproduction of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy's wedding
dress (made using over 4 km of thread), designed by designer Ann Lowe and
still considered one of the icons of fashion history. A truly emotionally
powerful journey that also includes the model of John F. Kennedy's rocking
chair from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
The exhibition is supported by Tiffany & Co.; the brand American jewelry
company chose to partner with the project because of the strong bond it
has always had with the Kennedy family." |

Article published on September 19, 2018, on the
HotelMyPassion.com website in the News section.
"Hotel Château Monfort dedicates an exhibition to Jackie Kennedy Onassis,
a style icon, through the images of Ron Galella."
During Milan Fashion Week, the lobby of the Château Monfort hotel in Milan
becomes the ideal setting for two weeks, from September 18th to 30th, of "Extraordinary
images of a timeless fashion icon." This exhibition, featuring 20
original photographs of Jackie Kennedy Onassis taken between 1967 and 1980
by Ron Galella, offers glimpses into the social and private life of one of
the most beloved style icons of our time.
Ron Galella is considered the most famous American paparazzo in the world.
He owes his fame not only to his "stolen" shots of celebrities, movie
stars, and music stars, published by all the world's leading magazines,
but also to two lengthy trials with Jackie herself, in the early 1970s and
1980s.
Jackie was by far Galella's favorite subject, and he dedicated two books
to her: "Jacqueline" in 1974 and "Jackie, My Obsession" in 2012. |

|
Article published on January 12, 2019, on the website of
the Institut Francais in Milan, to present the exhibition "KENNEDY
CONFIDENTIAL" (December 12,2018-January 12,2019).
Private life, beyond politics.
Frédéric Lecomte-Dieu creates a new photography exhibition dedicated to
the Kennedy myth.
Following the resounding success of THE KENNEDY YEARS (September
13–October 13, 2018), the Institut's gallery hosts a new exhibition paying
homage to the Kennedy family.
An evocative title that suggests the intention of curator Frédéric
Lecomte-Dieu: to recount episodes, anecdotes, and curiosities about the
private life of the only royal family of the United States of America and
to allow the public to perceive—through 200 new photographs—the complicity
that fueled the love story between John and Jackie. How did the timeless
Kennedy myth come to be? What were the family members' passions, habits,
traditions, and true friendships? What was their daily life like, beyond
politics?
The exhibition attempts to answer these questions with previously
unpublished testimonies, moving photographs, and glimpses of private life
that create an emotional journey through the lives of the New Frontier man
and his family. |

Another tragedy for the Kennedy family.
The daughter and grandson of former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy
Townsend are missing and presumed dead after a canoeing accident, the
family confirmed. Townsend confirmed late Friday the search had
transitioned to a recovery operation.
Townsend is the eldest daughter of Robert F. Kennedy, who
was assassinated in 1968 while running for president, and the niece of
President John F. Kennedy, who was assassinated five years earlier in
Dallas.
Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, Townsend's daughter, and her 8-year-old
son, Gideon, got into a canoe Thursday in the water of Chesapeake Bay off
their home in Shady Side, Maryland, "to retrieve a ball and were unable to
paddle back to shore," according to Maryland Natural Resources Police.
Townsend released a statement Friday night saying, "With profound sadness,
I share the news that the search for my beloved daughter Maeve and
grandson Gideon has turned from rescue to recovery." |
