Comment from the Coach
|
Team,
Very pleased with the performance today - the 4-3 winning scoreline
was a good reflection of the effort we put in.
We only had 11 players, so by the end of the game, we had some tired and
sore bodies - but I did not see any heads dip at any stage even when we
conceded the late goal - a good sign of strength of character. We do have a
habit of making some of our games a little bit too exciting - the older ones
amongst us on the side-lines would appreciate a little less tension towards
the end!
The defensive line held well today with some better talking very evident.
Good pace up front created more opportunities for us and we managed to snare
a few more than normal. Many stand-out performances today - amongst them a
typically industrious and creative effort from Bosh, probably a
personal-best effort for the season from Greg out wide, a good
running/heading game from the "fluorescent one" (James), another
saved penalty from Francesco, a "Paul Gascoigne" quality goal from
Johnny rounded off with a man-of-the-match
effort from Jack S up front with 3 goals
- never mind the quality Jack, 3 goals is 3 goals!
