Team,
A difficult (1-3) loss today -
primarily as we came up against the best goal-keeper we've played against
this season - we had far more shots on goal - but he played an excellent
game, denying all but one. Whilst we had most of the play, we did not
convert - the visibility was very bad - but it was the same for both sides.
We were exposed defensively early
on but recovered our strength when we started playing 4 in defense again.
Our late first half goal was well deserved and gave us hope for the second
half. In the second half, we peppered the goal but simply could not get the
breakthrough we needed. Thought we were on for a draw for a while today but
their late second half goal sealed it.
Martin
played another very industrious game, took a painful boot to the leg and was
denied a potential penalty.
Jonathon
created good space out wide - we just need to look for him more….
James H
played well showing good pace and
is increasingly using his strength to get past players.
Tom
was very effective in mid-field, holding the ball up and threading some
great passes off to create opportunities.
Jack
made some great, game transforming runs - the one late in the game almost
made us tired watching it - covered a decent stretch of pitch. Man-of-the
match today was Freddie
- an excellent, balanced game up-front, finding space, playing other players
into position and justly rewarded with a goal.
