A scrappy game today - a 1-1 draw was probably a fair result but we did have many chances to put the game beyond doubt - but could not quite close it out.

Martin's goal was sublime skill - nearly matched by a very close effort from Mo and several other near misses.

We drew some very positive elements out of today's game.  The defensive line was very solid and acted in unison - very pleased with the way we are not leaking goals like last season - gives us a good foundation.  However, we are still falling down around mid-field and up front.  We are not contesting strongly enough from defensive clearances (especially with our heading in mid-field) and our quality of through ball still needs some work.

Some very good performances today - Jack was superb in defense, providing excellent coverage and some well poised clearances under pressure, James G curbed his wandering ways with a quality backline display, Andy played a great game, bonding very well with the backline and contesting strongly, Matt showed some deft skills and became more physically assertive during the game which was great.  With these performances, man of the match was a difficult decision but for an all round effort, channelling his energy positively into the game and making some quality saves - Ollie is our man this week!
